I have a longing to understand So I can see differently this hand That I thought was so freely given
I wish to be free from all this pain I will keep moving and not remain In this place that I’ve been driven
To not have breath stolen by fears That have produced regretful tears And withdrawn this heart so bitten
To learn to break from the inside And then let loose this pressing tide So I can be free from all I’ve hidden
To use wings that are now grown Even though they’ve never flown And let rise what needs to be risen
I do pray for the wisdom to know How to live and how to let go And to forgive and be forgiven
